Lepeta and Maria is about two girls that want to be a Gothic girls.Lepeta has never seen a Black girl that is a Gothic before and Maria never seen a blond hair girl that is a Gothic Before and.
Lepeta Calla's Mother Winnie Denito that is her maiden name and she wants her daughter to be proud of her African culture. She does not want her daughter to go Gothic and her mother was born in Northern west Africa and Lepeta was born in American in Hollywood.
Maria's Darkers mother Scottie Lighters that is her maiden name and Maria's mother Scottie was born in Scotland.
So Lepeta and Maria's mother are neighbors and
they yelled at each other and they did not get along to well.
Maria and Lepta wear almost best friends at one point they did not get along to well ether.
That is why Winnie movie back to Africa for her daughter to be proud that she is black and she does not need all of the black make up on her her.
Maria's Brother Kelechi he is white but he has any African name because his parents never heard a white guy name Kelechi before. Kelechi is 9 turning ten he met Lepeta's Cousin Drew at the end of the story.
Jeremiad is Kelechi's dad and Lepta's dad is Collin
So Lepeta met girl with blond hair and Blue eye One name is Uniqua and the Other one in Nzinga and they have Africa names because there parent never heard a blond hair girl named Uniqua or Nzinga.
Lepeta mother said that is "disrespectful for naming white children black names." A blond hair boy name Klechi and blond hair girl name Nzinga and Uniqua.
The girls Nzinga and Uniqua paents said " Any body can be named Nzinga or Uniqua you racist woman and it's none of your businesses what were name or children where trying to be unique it's a free country you know.
Winnie said to Nzinga's and Uniqua parent That is two unique and it's like white people are stealing African names and culture. Nzinga and Uniqua's parent said "who cares."
There walked away so Winnie teaches her daughter the Nzinga was an African queen and Lepeta did not know that she thought Nzinga was a European name.
The Mother said " That is what I am saying I am not trying to be racist why do they have to name the white girl Nzinga not some else that is why you think Nzinga is a white name."
Because Lepeta Met a White girl Named Nzinga she never knew that Nzinga was an African name or an African Queen until her mother told her.
Lepeta saw her cousin name drew and they love playing video games and Winnie says " Why not try some African Games instead of European games all the time." That it what Makes Lepeta mad at her mother.
Her mother is a very nice woman and she is trying to help her daughter be proud that she is African American. Lepeta's cousin Drew has dark skin he is bald and wears glasses he is only 9 years old turning 10.
Drew and Lepta are cousins but there do not having any brother and sister there like brother and sister because they are both only children and they have a lot of thing in common.
So Winnie is trying to teach her daughter that white people where stealing there culture for no reason and they want there culture back and Nzinga was a name created in African not in Europe.
Winnie also teaches her daughter how slavery began and how racist began and stuff like that.
